Chemistry for Climate Action Challenge

One of the main initiatives of the Elsevier Foundation is the Chemistry for Climate Action Challenge. In conjunction with Elsevier’s Chemistry journals, the Elsevier Foundation awards two winning projects each year with financing of $25,000 USD. These projects implement sustainable and green chemistry solutions in the Global South, thereby improving gender equity (SDG 5) and climate action (SDG 13).

The Challenge is open to people and groups whose initiatives address some of the most pressing sustainability issues facing the developing world through the use of green and sustainable chemical solutions.

Each of the winning concepts will take home a $25,000 award. The winners will be declared during the 9th Elsevier Green & Sustainable Chemistry Conference in Punne, India, which takes place from March 3–6, 2025.
